My passion is to volunteer especially in the education area and always give 100%. Smash is not just helping our kids to succeed, it is also helping parents to feel confident about themselves and what a way to make us feel good than letting us give back to the program.

Michelle is the mother of SMASH scholar Haley Lopez.

My name is Michelle Lopez and I am the Credit Manager for a high tech company in Oakland.  I was excited and pleased to be elected as a 3rd year Parent Representative because it is important to me to be a part of my children’s lives and to be able to be involved in the amazing SMASH community.  It gives me great pleasure to be able to give back to the SMASH program by assisting the staff and working with the scholars and their families.

I'm the mother of 3 children. I always have high expectations for my kids and family. This will be my oldest son's first year in SMASH, and we are proud and happy that we were accepted into the program and I want to have the opportunity to participate and contribute to the program because I know that it is very important to be involved in our childrens' education.
