Norberto Joya

SMASH Class of 2007 Rep

Norberto Joya Garcia, SMASH Alumnus (Of the Original 24!), is currently attending City College of San Francisco focusing on transferring to either UC Berkeley or Dominican University with an intended major in Administration of Justice and a minor in Music. When not in school Norberto is either at work or at home spending time with family and playing with one of 7 guitars he owns.

2009 SMASH Graduate

As I write this, I am near Otavalo, Ecuador, learning the language and culture of a largely indigenous community and addressing specific health issues here during my Global Citizen Year. I am working with an organization called Jambi Huasi, that provides health care to indigenous communities using both Western and indigenous medicine.

Jose Villanueva

2010 SMASH Graduate

Jose will begin Stanford in September 2011 and plans to major in Civil Engineering. He is the first generation in his family attend college.  During high school, Jose was Vice President of Latino Student Union, a Freshmen Advisor and the top Latino science and math student in his district.
